Christmas and Valentine's all in one day!

I've been saying that I wanted to do a gingerbread house for years! So, for my birthday, Josh gave me a gingerbread house kit. We had SO much fun putting this thing together! My icing piping skills are a little to be desired... lol

The gingerbread man had a little accident! haha!

The finished product! Not too bad!

A whole lot of nothing!

Sorry I haven't posted anything... I could say that I have been REALLY busy... but that would be a lie! As you know, I had a workshop in my home last Saturday. It went well. Small group but lots of fun! Then Sunday we had my husband's family Christmas party. I wasn't sure how it would go being so close to the death of Josh's father but, we really did have a nice time. Josh's dad always took lots of shrimp to the party and would make the cocktail sauce so hot that no one could stand it.... and laughed the whole time asking who would be the next to try the over-the-top hot sauce!! This tradition Josh and I will carry on. I still don't think that the sauce was hot enough as most of it was gone. I'm sure Josh will try to perfect his recipe for next year. Here is my handsome husband excited about what Santa had brought him.

I wanted to share the next picture simply because I think that he is way too cute and I {heart} him (He calls himself Deer Slayer). I'm sure he will not be impressed that I posted it for all to see. Oh, well. :)

We finally received a significant snow fall here in Wellsboro! Exciting for me since I don't have to drive in it!! :) Here's our backyard. Beautiful, isn't it?

I'll try to stamp something in the next few days to share... Hope this post keeps you satisfied for the time being! :)

I've been busy!

I have to admit that I truly enjoyed my time while Josh was at camp over the weekend. As you can see from my last post, there was much crafting getting done! Some baking too!

I like to think that I can bake pretty well... but I had NEVER made a pumpkin pie. So today, since I had everything I needed in the cupboard, I made one! -Don't get too excited. I didn't make the pie crust... It's frozen. Shhh! Don't tell my grandmother. She would not approve. We haven't tasted it yet so I don't know how it turned out. Doesn't look too bad though! lol. P.S. Don't you just LOVE our orange counter tops!!??? So embarrassing! I should have taken the picture on the stove. Ugh.

I am having a holiday workshop this weekend in my home. Some of the things we'll be making are:

We'll be making a card too. I just haven't designed it yet.

I wanted to make some 3D samples for the workshop too. I had a lot of fun making these:

Every year I make small gifts for my coworkers. I'm still on medical leave but I thought it would still be nice to do the same thing this year. So, I am doing glitter ornaments packaged in boxes.

I'm hoping to restart hostess club next month. I think we'll be making clear envelope brag books. They turn out so well and are VERY easy to make!

If you do not approve of hunting or have a weak stomach, please stop reading!!!!

My husband is a hunter. He loves it!! He's a hunter for the meat not so much for the sport like some people. Anyway, he usually doesn't have great luck. Usually he'll get a doe which is great news because again, we really like the meat. And it's a long winter of eating lots of chicken if there is no venison in the freezer (our heating bill goes up and we have to compensate with free meat rather than buying beef from the store). Like I said before, Josh went to camp over the weekend... with no luck. He went out bright and early this morning - still no luck. This afternoon he said he was going to take his gun for a ride... and he came home with an 8-point!! I'm so excited for him! He's quite pleased with himself too! It's been a LONG time since he's got a buck! Yay Josh! :)

I can't work like this.

I sent Josh off to camp this afternoon for some much needed R&R. My relaxation was to spend some time in my craft room! I did just that! I am having a small workshop in my home next weekend so I worked on the projects for that and started making a few things for the (possible) re-start of hostess club next month. I usually clean up in between each project as I can NOT work with clutter all over my desk! Today it didn't work out like that - unfortunately. I have to clean my desk off before I can take pictures of the projects I finished today but I am beat! So, my desk will look this way until tomorrow.... or until the thought of it wakes me up and I do it in the middle of the night because I can't stand it looking like this. Oh, well. :)

Blah.

Sad news here in the Ingerick home. Josh's dad lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, November 30th. We had the viewing yesterday and the funeral was today. It's going to be rough here for a while. But, hopefully I'll be back soon.
